Introduction of The Chinese classical Literature Research Center, Fudan University The Chinese classical Literature Research Center of Fudan University is one of the first key academic social science and humanities research bases recognized by Education Ministry, as well as the only key research base of Chinese Classical Literature in the country. The Center is established on the basis of Research Institute of Chinese Classics, Fudan University and associates with Department of Chinese Language and Literature. After its establishment, the Research Institute of Chinese Classics is administrated by the Center. First founded in June,1999 and qualified as the national key academic social science and humanities research base, the Center has Professor Wang Yuanhua as the honor director, Professor Zhang Peiheng as the director, Professor Huang Lin as the vice director and later Professor Chen Guanghong in the position. From 2004, Huang Lin became the director and Chen Guanghong became the vice director. The core research work of the Center is Chinese Classical Literature, and at the same time , it extends to other related fields. At present, the Center has three spots enrolling Doctors and other three enrolling Masters. The entitled three specialties in doctor’s degree are Chinese Classical Literature, Classical Philology and the Development of Chinese Literature. Chinese Linguistics and Characters is also administered by the Center. Besides the above four majors, the entitled Master’s specialties also includes the course in Logic(major in YinMing Study). The professional research team of the Centers consists of professors and associate professors from Fudan University. It also includes professors as part-time faculties both from Fudan and other universities. The five research sections are as follows: Chinese Classical Literature, Chinese Classical Literary Criticism, Chinese Classical Philology, the Development of Chinese Literature and the Communication and Research of Overseas Chinese Literature. Prefessor Zheng Lihua and Professor Yang Ming take charge of the first and second teaching and research sections, Professor Wu Ge and Professor Chen Zhenghong take charge of the third. The Development of Chinese Literature section is in the charge of Professor Tan Beifang and has Professor Jia Zhifang as the consultant who is one of the most famous experts in the field of Chinese Modern Literature. Professor Chen Yinchi take responsibility of the Communication and Research of Overseas Chinese Literature section. The Chinese classical Literature Research Center of Fudan University has established the academic committee and expert committee which consist of experts as committee members and part-time professors from famous universities both home and abroad.
